The LCBO now offers after-hours alcohol delivery through the food delivery app Toronto Alcohol Delivery.
The initial cooperation will be in 15 LCBO sites around Toronto. The agreement specifies that LCBO on-demand deliveries can only be requested through Skip the Dishes.
Canada Post used to be an option for alcohol delivery from the government shop, but the time frame was unpredictable and might be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. As a result, the LCBO direct delivery service was limited to the company’s standard stock list exclusively.
More than 300 wines, beers, and spirits, including numerous local alcoholic drinks, will now be delivered to your door thanks to Toronto Alcohol Delivery. Delivery service add-ons include present wrapping, boxes, and ice, as requested by the customer.
CEO and President of the LCBO George Soleas said, “We think it will be a big success over the holiday season, and we intend to expand the service farther across the province in the new year.”
Sales of alcoholic beverages in Ontario remain governed by the AGC’s standard regulations. If the person accepting the delivery cannot produce an appropriate form of identification, seems to be under the influence of alcohol, or attempts to purchase on behalf of a minor or an incapacitated adult, the delivery will be cancelled.
Even in lockdown regions, all LCBO stores and other liquor outlets will stay open, albeit at 50% capacity and with a mandatory two-meter buffer between customers.
The LCBO’s alcohol delivery service is available daily (excluding Mondays) from 10 a.m. to one hour before closure.
